Lesley Lawrie's Time at Craigsbank

We are very sorry to be saying goodbye to Lesley Lawrie, our Children and Families worker, who recently resigned.

Lesley has been involved in so many of our activities since she came 7 years ago. She was involved in the very popular Messy Church and often linked the activities the children did on the Saturday with the theme of the Sunday service the next day. We all remember the visit last year by Rev David Coleman of Eco- Congregation Scotland where the large bug hotel Lesley had organised along with the eco group took front stage. The bug hotel had been the focus of Messy Church the day before. You can still see the bug hotels at each centre.

At the Messy Church before Easter Lesley organised a very popular paint bombing session. This was of a cross and the cross was impressively displayed in the front of the church on Easter Sunday where Rev Peter Wood had a very child friendly Easter Communion service.

From the photos below you can see that Lesley was involved in many, many activities such as the annual wee service and BBQ, Youth Service, Christingle service, All age talks, leading worship when the minister was on leave each year, Toddler groups, Youth group, the Imagination Tree, links with East Craigs Primary and supported Church activities such as Christian Aid Breakfasts. Many will also remember that Lesley was married at Craigsbank a few years ago.

We will miss Lesley for all that she has done and we will also miss her for her smile and her enthusiasm.

She must also have second sight - she had the young people at the Youth Service last November make a rainbow to take home, not knowing we would all be using them as a symbol of hope on our windows in 2020!
