A Time for Quiet Reflection following the death of Queen Elizabeth II

In remembrance of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and recognising how unsettling this sudden change is for many of us, the doors of Craigsbank Church will be open from 9.00am until 9.00pm on Wednesday 14 September 2022. If you would welcome some quiet time in the sanctuary, please come along at any point over the course of the day. Stay for a moment, stay for longer – you will be welcome. A book of condolence will be available.

In the evening, tea and coffee (and marmalade sandwiches) will be served from 6.00pm – 7.00pm to give us all a chance to share memories. From 7.00pm until 8.00pm there will be an hour of music, candle-light and quiet reflection in the sanctuary, led by John Patterson.

Queen Elizabeth II

21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022

The Queen weathered many storms, both public and private, but her steadfast faith always carried her through

Margaret Rhodes, first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II

As we mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II, we give thanks for her life and her exceptional reign, her deep affection for her people, her lifelong desire to serve the common good, her humility and grace, hard work and dedication, and her Christian faith.

Our thoughts and prayers are with King Charles, III and members of the Royal Family as they mourn the loss of a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as a friend and monarch.

The Corstorphine Old Parish Church is open for private prayer and reflection on Friday and Saturday from 10.00am until 4.00pm.

A reminder that our own Sunday service this week is at the East Craigs Church centre at 10.30am.
